Gastroscopy and colonoscopy: a clear path through care
Find out whether endoscopy is appropriate, what preparation involves and how results or further treatment would be followed up.
Clinical availability: Pending confirmation
Know what the examination needs to answer
Symptoms, risk factors or a previous finding may lead you to consider gastroscopy or colonoscopy. Start with the question you need the examination to answer. The receiving clinician reviews your history and previous results to decide whether endoscopy is appropriate and how it should fit with any further care.
Think beyond the examination day
Useful planning covers preparation, medicines and sedation, as well as how results will be explained. If tissue is examined or a polyp or another abnormality is found, the next decision may involve pathology, further treatment or follow-up. Diagnostic endoscopy and a treatment such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) are separate decisions. Discuss the possible next steps before making travel arrangements.
How NEXA connects the details
We help you bring together existing endoscopy reports, pathology results and the questions you want answered. We check with an appropriate team whether assessment can be arranged and help clarify preparation instructions, accompaniment needs, service scope and how results will reach you. Advice about medicines, sedation and treatment comes from the clinical team.
Plan for the results as well as the visit
Contact NEXA with the reason for your enquiry and any relevant reports you already have. Together, we can identify the questions to put to the receiving team: what the visit covers, when reports may be available, who explains them and what happens if further care is needed. For care in China, this helps connect the procedure, pathology and follow-up rather than leave you to organise each step separately.
